are you ready for it?

Hello! My name is Marissa Perez, but you can call me Rissy :)

I am starting this store and entire small business because I want to encourage others to feel their emotions and release their pain. My artwork focuses on parts of my life that have left me paying for years of therapy. The top three traumas I depict are my sexual assault, abusive marriage, and my father’s death.

My art is not for everyone. It is definitely not for those that have been blessed with a super happy life. It’s kind of like the beginning of “The Series of Unfortunate Events.”

If you are interested in happy endings, you would be better off reading some other book.

In my case, if you are interested in happy paintings, you would be better off with buying some other prints. I do hope that I get to a healthy place where I feel like I can pour my soul into a happy piece. However, for now, I will be painting and printing with tears in my eyes. Even my flowers are depressing when you learn why I chose them.

Whelp, another day, another chance to put my emotions out into the world and encourage others to do the same. We are more alike than different.
